Update on Mei Lin - Cardiology report

If you followed our blog while we were waiting to bring Mei Lin home you know that in China she was diagnosed with an atrial septal defect (hole in her heart) and tricuspid incompetence (heart valve problem). This week we finally saw the cardiologist, and amazingly, he says her heart is perfectly normal. No hole. No valve flow problems at all. Not even a murmur. It's such a relief to have confirmed what we've prayed and believed for so long...she's an absolutely healthy little girl!

God is amazing. I think back to the week we spent researching her special need while deciding to adopt her. We worried about worst-case scenarios, but we finally settled into the peace that come-what-may, God planned for us to be her family. And looking back, we had nothing at all to worry about!

I'll post again with some more Mei Lin info. She's been home four months and I've been forgetting to post little updates on how she's adjusting, etc. Life's just too busy for a long post right now, but I'll do that soon.

Wow!!! That's super news! A heart op isn't such a big deal, but it's so much better to just have a healthy kid! Praise God for his goodness to you.

Oh Cindy, that's awesome -- God is so faithful!

I really felt in my heart that she was going to be "perfectly normal," too. So I must admit that I'm not completely shocked by this wonderful news. :)
