"Apple" Orchard

Our field trip to the apple orchard was quite the cultural experience, as you'll see below. Can you believe this was our first pig race??

The girls LOVED the corn bin, a giant box full of corn kernels. Believe it or not, I'm still finding kernels in my clothes dryer.

Considering there were less than a dozen apple trees, and NO apples for sale, I'd call this more of a pumpkin patch with a few apple trees. But we did have fun!

On the drive home, the tobacco barn caught this Yankee's eye.

All tuckered out...
Notice Mei Lin's slightly-open eyes. This is how she sleeps. Sometimes it's hard to tell if she's awake or asleep.

Training for the races! The orchard gave the girls "Fun Dips" to help illustrate pollination. The girls were pretending the stick was the bee's legs gathering the pollen. Apparently fingers work better than "legs."

Just a sweet picture. My little bedheaded beauty.
